CLASSROOM BUILDING
University of Mississippi Medical Center

The firm provided full A/E services for design of this 28,656 SF classroom building. A number of specific concerns were addressed in the design of the facility, such as -
• Separation of the classroom, testing lab and support functions to aid in noise control
• Exterior plaza for study and breaks
• Large classrooms accommodating up to 200 students
• Numerous smaller hands-on classrooms
• Computers with internet capabilities in every
classroom
• Mock exam rooms for student interaction with patients
The building design is responsive to teacher/student needs which include a wide monumental stair to assist with the efficiency of circulation, state-of-the-art technology in each classroom and specialty medical facilities to assist in the education of future physicians.
The $3.97 million structure was completed for the fall semester of 2005.
