ARTHUR C. GUYTON LABORATORY RESEARCH BUILDING The firm provided full A/E, interior design and landscape architecture services for this $14 million biomedical research facility on the campus of UMMC. The 102,000 SF laboratory research building, which houses physicians having received research grants, is a 5-story structure providing laboratory and office space for research physicians in a range of medical specialties. The Animal Holding floor features 14 holding rooms accommodating a variety of animals from mice to primates, as well as surgical and procedure suites, prep and recovery areas, and complete cage washing facilities. A unique laboratory design facilitates traditional "wet-labs" in spaces that are extremely versatile, and allows for flexibility and easy adaptability to meet the special needs of the varying research grants.
